Ban Heng Buffet @ Orchard Central

Ban Heng Restaurants offer a wide range of ala carte buffet selection. Here are the review on the food that they serve @ Orchard Central. There is a Chef special Menu which all the food will be serve unless you specify that you do not want that selection. We didn't really try all the dishes from the menu, just some selected few for trying.

(红烧蟹肉鱼翅 Braised Shark's Fin with Crabmeat )

Sorry Shark lovers. The shark's fin soup is thick and savoury. Quite decent serving.


(药膳醉虾 Drunken Prawn with Chinese Herbs)

Fresh prawns cooked with dates, angelic herbs etc.... I will suggest to eat the prawns only and save your stomach space for others


(油浸顺壳 Deep fried Soon Hock fish)

Nice crispy deep fried fish served with light soy sauce. I really love the fish meat, firm. Not flaky at all.

Verdict 3.5/5

The standard of the food is good. I will mark down on the service by the staff. Even the manager is somewhat arrogant to the customers. I will seriously advice Ban Heng group to review on their staff's service level and attitude towards the customers.

Dazzling Cafe Singapore 蜜糖吐司專賣店


Oh yes, finally get a chance to try the food in Dazzling cafe after last year fave when they opened. Located at CBD area, Stamford road, it is quite accessible via public transport such as MRT (alight at city hall station) or bus.

There is a separate menu if you are looking for Toasts


Weekday special for just $19.90 nett. This is quite a good deal for lunch. You get to choose either a soup or tea on top of your main (Spaghetti). The choice of spaghetti range at about $16.90++, so just another $3 you will get a soup/tea. 

I decided to try this lunch special


Cream of Mushroom - Thick brown mushroom soup which the mushrooms are finely blended. Quite delicious if you ask me.


Scallops and crabmeat agilo oilo - Surprised by this dish, seriously real crab meat was used instead of those artificially made crabmeat sticks. Mildly spicy. Scallops are cooked nicely, topped with roasted garlic for extra kicks.


Hazalnut Cocoa ($9 iced)


Matcha with Azuki Beans Honey Toast ($19.90)


Nice presentation of the dessert. 3 thick toasts topped with matcha ice cream and covered with thick layer of cream. The toasts are coated thinly with sugar. The interior of the toasts had been filled with cubed size bread. I hardly find the azuki beans in the toast, maybe just a few beans on the outside. Overall, the sweetness is acceptable, but just too much cream to my liking

Impressive presentation of the food, however i find the taste for the toast is somewhat a let down.
I have to compliment the staffs. Very good service and attentiveness i received from the staffs.
It is still worth the experience if you have not tried theirs version in Taiwan outlet
